
ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Panthers made quite a first impression in the team's inaugural game.
The Panthers beat the Columbus Lions 54-41.
The Panthers set the tone early jumping out to a 14-1 lead. Cecil Lester found Clenton Rafe for a 35 yard touchdown on the Panthers opening possession.
On the ensuing Lions possession Albany's Kevin Campbell knocked the ball loose from Columbus QB Todd Spitzer and Panthers LB Alton Pettway recovered the fumble for a touchdown.
