ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A man was attacked and beaten early Friday morning in Albany.

41-year-old Craig Gilbert told police he went 500 block of North Jackson Street to pay for a haircut when he was attacked by two men.

He was hit several times with an unknown object, and ended up with a broken leg.

They men got away with cash.

Gilbert was able to able to make it to the city gas pumps behind the main fire station downtown, and was spotted by a patrolling officer about five hours after the incident.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The suspects are black men one was bald about 5'6" 175 pounds, the other was short with a heavy build about 5'7" and weighed about 270 pounds.
