VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) –A Valdosta business owner has created a plan he says will help boost the local economy.

Southern Tile and Carpet Company is matching all sales tax spent in his store and writing checks for that amount to other stores. Owner Cal Stubbs says it's a way to pass on retail spending.

"Hopefully more people will catch on more stores will participate more income will be generated from purchases in Valdosta and people will pass that money on to other stores and keep it going for the months of April and May," said Stubbs.

Turner's Fine Furniture has also agreed to match tax dollars. Stubbs says his "pass it on" plan complements the Chamber of Commerce's Buy in Greater Valdosta campaign.
