ASU Founder's Day Golf Tournament set for Saturday

Albany, GA -  The second annual Albany State University Founder's Day Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, April 3, at Flint River Golf Course, 2000 McAdams Drive, Albany.

The tournament features a $1,000,000 shootout (qualifiers for the closest to the pin on the designated par 3 hole) sponsored by John Ross Jewelers.

Other cash prizes include $500 for the first place team, $400 for the second place team and $300 for the third place team. Door prizes will also be presented to participants.

The entry fee is $250 per four-person team or $65 per person. Mulligans are also available at the price of two for $5.

Hylick; Albany Convention & Visitors Bureau; Mark's Greenhouse; Albany Lincoln Mercury; Sunbelt/FordTown of Albany; Ruby Tuesday/Red Lobster; South Georgia Brick Co. Inc.; Equity Group-Georgia Division LLC; MillerCoors; Lokey's Custom Golf & Repair; Dr. Everette J. and Mrs. Jo Neal Freeman; R.D. Wood Insurance Associates Inc.; Star Athletics Inc.; Country Inn & Suites; Jerome P. Guy; and Dr. Willie J. Fussell.

Pre-registered players include teams sponsored by Georgia Power and South Georgia Brick Co. Inc. along with several ASU students and community supporters.

Registration on Saturday will begin at 8 a.m. The tournament will start at 8:30 a.m.

Proceeds will benefit the Hamp Smith Scholarship Fund and ASU Foundation Scholarships.
