ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Easter Sunrise Service and breakfast will be held at Covella Pond from 7-8 a.m. on Sunday, April 4.
Following the early morning sunrise service, free breakfast will be served at the Crossroads Restaurant to those who attended the Easter morning service. The event is open to base personnel.
The Marine Corps Logistics Base hosts Easter Sunrise Services each year at its installation. Over the years, these spiritual services have evolved and now are celebrated at the large amphitheater at Covella Pond on base.
Sponsored by the Base Chapel, Sunday's non-denominational service is scheduled to begin with spiritual music at 7 a.m. (sunrise), and will be followed by a traditional sermon.
The Command Chaplain, Navy Lt. Kenneth L. Miller, is slated to deliver this year's Easter sermon, focusing on what Easter means to us.
Following the hour-long service, all worshippers in attendance are cordially invited to the Crossroads Restaurant on base for a free breakfast. The service is open to all base personnel.
Worshippers attending the base's sunrise service are asked to be seated at the amphitheater at least 15 minutes before 7 a.m.
