ALBANY - A man was trapped this afternoon after a three-vehicle crash on the bypass in Albany.

A dumptruck carrying concrete pieces traveling north slammed into a tracter trailer rig, splitting the trailer in half. He then crossed the median, narrowly missing a State Patrol traveling south and careened into a small pickup truck.

The dump truck overturned into a ditch and entrapped the driver for about a half hour.

Investigators say the driver of the dump truck ran the red light on US 19 in front of Procter and Gamble. He was hospitalized.

More information as it becomes available.
