ALBANY,  GA (WALB) – The Chamber of Commerce honored Albany's service men and women with their annual Rise 'N Shine breakfast.

More than 100 people enjoyed a hearty meal this morning at Doublegate Country Club.

The event was sponsored by Artesian Construction Company and LRA Constructor, Inc.
Active and inactive marines in the community were invited to attend.

The gathering focused on the Marine Corps Logistics Base, featuring a color guard presentation and speakers.

"We have a great relationship with the base and all the military," said Jimmy Wilson, Chairman Albany Area Chamber of Commerce.

"For them to put on something special just to recognize us means a lot to me and I'm sure it meant a lot to the other service members as well," said Cpl. Owen Kyler, MCLB Albany.

This was Cpl. Owen Kyler's first military appreciation breakfast. He was one of the Marines honored this morning for his achievement as marine of the quarter.
