News release from Albany State

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Tonight, Albany State University will hold a candlelight memorial for Stephen A. Hudson, a freshman Teacher Education Scholar at ASU. The memorial will take place in the ACAD Auditorium at 7 p.m.

Stephen, a native of Douglasville, Ga., and a resident of Wiley Hall on campus, was killed early Saturday morning when he and a non-ASU friend were struck by a passing vehicle while attempting to change a tire off Interstate 185 near Columbus, Ga. Both young men died as a result of the accident.

The entire Albany State University family mourns the loss of this promising young scholar. The community is invited to join us at this Candlelight Memorial as we celebrate the life of an Eternal Ram.

Please keep the Hudson family and Stephen's dearest friends on campus and elsewhere in your thoughts and prayers.
