Dougherty County Police investigate junk truck thefts

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Dougherty County Police are investigating a number of recent car and truck thefts.

Investigators say most of these cars were towed away, because they were not running.

Investigators say Rodrick White's 1982 GMC Sierra was stolen from outside this shed on Moultrie Road Monday night.

It was the second truck theft in two days in Dougherty County. Investigators say White had been working on the truck, and was not drive able.

Police suspect thieves are taking old junk cars and selling them to recycling centers for easy cash. They are asking people to keep watch for tow trucks taking old, junk cars.
