By Jim Wallace - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –An East Albany man is arrested for burning copper wire in his yard in the middle of a neighborhood.

Firefighters say the smoke from burning the plastic insulation on copper wire is toxic and could kill.

Ismael Agustin is charged with dumping egregious litter.

Just before noon Sunday firefighters reported to Police that wire was being burned in Agustin's yard on Daniels Court.

Agustin told Police someone gave him the wire.

Investigators don't have any evidence it was stolen.
