SYLVESTER - All this rain will make for perfect breeding grounds for mosquitoes. But people in Sylvester can give themselves some extra protection. The city is offering mosquito briquets for $1 a piece. They kill the larvae before they grow up to be bigger bloodsucking mosquitoes.
"Though the city sprays city streets and roadways people want to do it on private property, they have lakes or ponds or standing water, this is another service the city provides," city manager Jim Dinley said.
Tablets and other mosquito controls are usually sold online and not available in most stores.
