ALBANY, GA (WALB) - When Albany's Jordan Brown steps up to the free throw line to shoot he's usually more accurate than most professionals, and he's only nine years old.
"Jordan is so competitive. He's seen some of my Elks Hoops Trophies at home and he's always trying to compete against me" said Jordan's father Earnest Brown.
Earnest taught Jordan how to shoot free throws and now his son is the best free throw shooter in the family.
"I think every shot is like a championship shot" said Jordan.
Jordan has won back to back state championships in the Elks Lodge Hoops Contest. This year he became a regional champion beating out the best shooters from four other states.
"I shoot like 75 free throws every day."
Jordan says he usually makes about 73 of the 75. Next month he's off to Springfield, Massachusetts to compete for a National Championship.
"It's a great accomplishment whether he wins or loses he's a winner in our minds. He gets a chance to get his name enshrined in the hall of fame if he wins the competition" said Earnest.
"It feels good to me because If I win I can get my name inside the hall of fame with Michael Jordan and other people like that" said Jordan.
The National Hoop Shoot free throw contest begins April 22nd in Springfield, Massachusetts.
