ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Four East Albany gang members are charged with the violent armed robbery of five hispanic men over the weekend. Three of the gang members are teenagers, one of them 14 years old.

The Albany Police Gang Unit says the armed robbers were all members of an East Albany gang that live in the same neighborhood, and they targeted the Hispanic men while they had a party Saturday night.

24 year old Delletorious Stills, 17 year old Clifford Parker, 16 year old Kovarious Price and 14 year old Demonta Price are charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, and gang participation. Police say they attacked 5 hispanic men at a mobile home park on Dunes Drive Friday night and viciously beat two of the men with guns.

Albany Police Gang Unit Investigator Hope Ellis said "One was hit in the back of the head and pushed inside of the residence. Once again when they gained entry inside the residence, the second subject was also hit. "

Money and cell phones were stolen. Investigators say the hispanic men were targeted not because of prejudice, but because they were thought to be easy targets by the robbers that likely would not report the crime to Police.

But Police say the hispanic men did report the crime, and community witnesses helped lead Gang Investigators to these gangsters who were arrested.

Ellis said "We do understand that they are afraid, for whatever circumstance. They are apprehensive about coming forward when crimes are committed against them. But we encourage them, we are here to help them, because they are part of our community."

Police say they are looking for this man, 20 year old Roger Lewis, as a person of interest. No charges have been filed against him, but witnesses say there were five robbers.

There have been several more Hispanic victims of armed robberies in East Albany in the last year.  Albany Police are investigating those robberies to see if these gang members might have been involved in those crimes.

If you have any information about Roger Lewis, call Albany Police at 431-2100, or CRIME STOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
