Albany - Albany Tomorrow asked elected officials to help save one of the city's historical buildings, the Bridge House. Renovating The Bridge House, built in 1857 by Albany founder Nelson Tift, would cost nearly $1,000,000.

On Monday, ATI President Tommy Chatmon asked county commissioners to reallocate $250,000 tax funds originally set aside to build a pedestrian bridge linking Albany State to downtown.

Chatmon said the bridge project was put on hold and the money can better be used now to renovate the Bridge House. County commissioners approved Chatmon requests The rest of the money need to renovate the Bridge House will come from private donations.
