ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital has a new facility to treat troops suffering post traumatic stress and other people with mental health issues.
The hospital officially opened its renovated Behavioral Health Center Tuesday. One floor is specifically for geriatric patients.
The rooms are designed for patient safety with pull-away shower curtains and covered plumbing. Everything is tamper proof. The center includes new technology, exam rooms, waiting rooms, and sitting areas.
A new Post Traumatic Stress Disorder treatment center is now up and running in the Behavioral Health Center. Phoebe received $1.6-million federal grant to study and treat PTSD in troops.
