ALBANY, GA (WALB) –An East Albany man was pistol whipped and shot at during an attempted car jacking early Tuesday  morning.

22-year old Mayhor Mendez told Police three men, two with guns, robbed him and tried to steal his Ford Explorer near a trailer park off Mobile Avenue.

One of the robbers hit Mendez in the face with a pistol.

As the robber started to drive away with his car, Mendez jumped in the back seat.

The robber fired one shot at Mendez, but missed.

The robber left Mendez and his S-U-v and drove off in a four door dark colored car.
