Business booming at Forrester Parkway

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  The intersection of U.S. 19 and Forrester Parkway in Lee County is busy with construction on two of the four corners.

Crews recently began clearing ground for the construction of a new CVS Pharmacy and several other potential tenants. Across the intersection, work continues on the Publix Grocery Store. Planning officials say the demographics in the area make the intersection prime retail space and the county's long range transportation plan to extend Forrester Parkway could bring in more traffic.

"The demographics around that area indicate there's a lot of rooftops in that area and eventually we would like to see Forrester Parkway extended on over to U.S. 82 so there's a lot of growth potential for that location," said Bob Alexander, Lee County Planning Director.

Planning officials say Ameris Bank also owns property at the intersection and is expected to put in a branch location.
