ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The Dougherty County School Board will again consider whether to make their top choice for Superintendent available to the community.
When the Dougherty County School Board meets Wednesday they could vote to hire their top choice for Superintendent Joshua Murfree, although the item is not on the agenda. What is on the agenda is an item to discuss whether Murfree will address the community in a public forum that board members promised as part of the hiring process.
"The board had discussed previously on several occasions about having a public forum and introducing the finalists or finalist to the public that was on the agenda to be revisited last board meeting but it was tabled so its on the agenda in accordance with proper procedure to be discussed again," said David Maschke, School Board Chairman.
Two of the top six finalists in Dougherty County, Former Little Rock, Arkansas School Superintendent Roy Brooks and Dr. Vayla Lee an Assistant Superintendent in Clayton County are now finalists for Sumter County school superintendent.
