ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  An apartment fire, at the location of a shooting earlier this week, is being investigated as an arson.

Firefighters were called to 109 East Road, Apartment C, the same location where Albany Police say 21-year-old Michael Sherrod Eady is a person of interest in the shooting of a man Monday night.

The woman living there said a man showed up at her door and refused to leave. Police say the woman called her uncle, 37-year-old Michael Angelo Jones, asking him to come over and force the man to leave.

When Jones showed up, police say the suspect pulled out a gun and shot Jones once in the stomach. Jones was taken to the hospital.

Police are investigating the shooting and fire as two separate incidents.

If you know anything about Michael Eady's whereabouts, call Albany Police or Crimestoppers at 229-436-TIPS.
