Prius found and returned to owner

ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An update to a story we told you on Friday.

A woman who had her car stolen did get it back but she may not be able to drive it anytime soon.

One of only hundreds in the U.S., Linda Kent and her husband own two 2003 Toyota Priuses.

Her white Prius was stolen from underneath a carport in Albany last week.

The car was discovered on Sunday not far from the post office on South Slappey after a neighbor told police it has been sitting in front of her house for quite a while.

"The wrecker yard called and said they had the car and when I went there it was not derivable, there's something wrong with it and right now it's at the Toyota shop, but they found the car because they answered a burglary call, and the woman I want to thank her too," said Linda Kent, Car Theft Victim.

The car was stolen after the thief found her keys in the console of her husband's unlocked vehicle.

They said their headache should be a learning lesson for others to always lock your vehicle.
