TIFTON, GA (WALB) –Tifton is one of ten communities in Georgia to be awarded a grant to help promote tourism in the county.

Tifton will receive 8,000 dollars which they plan on using to develop a web site for the Downtown Development Authority.

Once created, the web site will tell people about the quality of life in Tifton for those who are thinking about traveling to the area.

It will also help provide information for entrepreneurs and developers who are considering development in the area.

These grants are provided through the historic preservation Fund from the U.S. department of the Interior's National Park Service.
