Baton Rouge, LA (WALB) – A Louisiana man charged in a deadly crash that killed 5 members of an Ashburn family pleaded not guilty this week to five counts of vehicular homicide.
Troopers say 30-year-old Dwayne Leggett had a blood alcohol level of point 0.18 when his truck slammed into the back of a pickup on I-10 near Baton Rouge.
18-month old Alondra Brionca, 27-year-old Sonia Gomez Brionca, 35-year-old Jacqueline Gomez,54-year-old Maria Barillos, and 22-year old Rito Gomez were in the pickup and died from injuries caused in the crash.
The Turner County residents were in route to a family reunion in Texas.
