ALBANY, GA (WALB) - For the first time in program history the South Georgia Tech women's basketball team will play in the NJCAA National Tournament.
With a record of 29-5 The Lady Jets advanced to the tournament after winning the district J title 64 to 52 over Guilford Tech.
The first round of the national tournament presents a big challenge for South Georgia Tech. The Lady Jets will play 2008 National Champion Gulf Coast Community College out of Panama City Florida.
The Lady Commodores are ranked number two in the country with only one loss this season.
"They're extremely extremely talented. They're nine or ten deep with big time players so it's gonna be a challenge for us to go out there and give them a good game" said South Georgia Tech head coach Brandon Harrell.
South Georgia Tech and Gulf Coast Community College tip off at 3:00 eastern on Tuesday in Salina, Kansas.
