Thomasville's dream comes to end

MACON, GA (WALB) - Greater Atlanta Christian beat Thomasville 77-65 in the AA boys basketball state championship game Saturday ending Thomasville's dream of winning a state championship for the first time in history.

Malcolm Brogdon led the Spartans with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Trent Wiedeman added 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Greater Atlanta Christian shot 63% from the field in the first half and took and led by 11 at the half.

Thomasville would cut the deficit to 6 in the 3rd quarter but the Spartans would pull away in the 4th quarter.

Thomasville's leading scorer Willie Clayton spent most of the game in foul trouble and fouled out early in the 4th quarter. He finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds.

Robert Carter led the Bulldogs with 20 points. Thomasville finished the season with a 24-5 record.
