Cuthbert shooting victim dies

CUTHBERT, GA (WALB) –  Two men are being questioned in Cuthbert after the shooting incident that left a man dead. 

The two men police say he was fighting with turned themselves in for questioning.

Around 2:45 AM Cuthbert police say 27-year-old Sherome Brookins was shot outside his home at 277 1st Street. 

Investigators say earlier a fight broke out between Brookins and two men at Silver's Lounge, a bar on 4th Street.

Brookins died about 1:15 Friday afternoon at Columbus Regional  Medical Center. 

About 2:00PM, 28-year-old Derrick Lewis and 26-year-old Dion McElroy turned themselves in to Cuthbert Police. 

Police say they are the two men who fought Brookins at the bar.  They are being questioned by GBI Investigators, and no charges have been filed yet.
