Westover looking forward after South Atlanta win

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Westover's dramatic come from behind win Saturday over a South Atlanta team that beat them in last year's state championship game sparked an expected celebration.

The Patriots though still  have two more games to win if they are to win a seventh state basketball title.

After eliminating the defending state champion Hornets on Saturday, Westover faces another tough opponent in Columbia in the AAA semifinals.

Columbia won two state titles in AAAA before dropping down to AAA last year.

In fact, Columbia lost to South Atlanta in last year's semifinals.

The Patriots say they have Saturday's game in the rear view mirror and are focused on winning Friday night.

Forward Onochie Ochie said. "They are a great team. I think they are bigger than South Atlanta too. We just have to focus on them and try to get to the victory so we can play in the state title game."

Guard Shevern Keaton said.  "It is going to be easy because it is another step to the state championship. We are just going to have to forget about the last game and just give 100 percent on defense in this game."

Westover plays Columbia at 5:30pm Friday in the AAA semifinals in Macon.
