Public responds to emergency calls

April 2, 2003

Camilla-- After pleas for help, donations of food and supplies are pouring in for tornado victims. The shelves at the donation center are now full.

Organizers say they now have enough food, clothes, and personal hygiene products to the serve the immediate needs of storm victims.

Now storm victims are in need of the supplies needed to rebuild and restart homes. "We were so glad to see people donated so freely," said Carolyn Lipscomb of the EDC. "Now we need towels, sheets, building supplies, and other things you need to restart you life."

The Donated Good Center, next to the Wal-Mart in Camilla, will be open until the end of April.
