THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -  Thomasville High has been a football power in south Georgia for decades.

The Bulldogs are now one of the top basketball programs in the state.

Thomasville High is back in the AA state semifinals for the first time in four years.

Their last trip was in 2006 when the Bulldogs lost to Dublin in the state championship game.

Since then the postseason has been a nightmare for the Bulldogs who haven't didn't make it past the second round for the three years after that state title game appearance.

Including three years ago when the Bulldogs won their first 25 games then their last two.

Head coach Ben Tillman says the march heartbreak is over and the entire community is united in winning a state basketball title.

Ben Tillman said. "It is so exciting for our seniors and for the whole community. Everybody is rallying around us. It seems to be a good feeling for all the people here."

Thomasville plays Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Macon Coliseum.
