ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Many of us get into such a rush in the mornings, we often don't eat for breakfast. You've probably been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So the Breakfast Hero is visiting businesses and schools in Albany this week touting the importance of starting the day off right.

This is national school breakfast week. The Breakfast Hero wants to make sure young people and adults know that a good breakfast has been linked to academic achievement and better health. "It gets your mind going," said "Breakfast Hero" Wanda Carroll.  "I mean, you got to have food in your body when you get up in the morning. A lot of people think they got to skip breakfast, but breakfast you don't need to skip. That's the most important meal of the day to get your mind and body going."

The breakfast hero has been visiting Dougherty County schools all week. She says when she shows up, more students eat breakfast.
