DAWSON GA (WALB) - The Terrell County Greenwave are in the Class A final four for a third time in six seasons.

The Greenwave hope this is their year to win a state title.

Coach John Davis' Terrell County team has been destiny's darlings through the first three rounds.

The beat former state champ Hancock Central in a close game then won at the buzzer in the second round against Greenville.

Last Friday, Terrell County pulled one of the biggest upsets in the state tournament when they beat unbeaten and number one ranked Wilkinson County in the sectionals.

Now Terrell County faces defending state champ Whitefield Academy in the semifinals tomorrow.

Coach Davis believes their previous tournament games has them prepared for their next challenge.

John Davis said. "The road to the final four for us has been a rough road. I feel like it has been a road that has prepared us and made us ready to rise up to the challenge of being able to be ready for anybody we meet."

Terrell County plays at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Macon and Wilcox County faces Wesleyan at 8:30 in the other Class A boys semifinal.

Bainbridge boys play Mays at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the AAAA semifinals in Duluth.

On Thursday, Thomasville boys play Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. in Macon.

Westover is in action Friday at 5:30 p.m. against Columbia in the AAA semifinals.
