ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Two high school coaching vacancies in Dougherty County are filled.
The Dougherty County school board tonight approved the hiring of Baldwin coach Jesse Hicks at Dougherty High School.
The board also voted to promote Albany High assistant coach Felton Williams to head coach of the Indians.
Jesse Hicks is a former Albany State assistant who won 70 games and back to back region titles in eight years at Baldwin.
He takes over for Charles Flowers who is now head coach at Troup High.
Williams is a former Albany High player.
He was the Indians interim head coach in 2009 when Reginald Mitchell took the Sherwood Christian job last June.
Albany High was 0-10 last year.
Their third losing season in the last four years.
