ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Nearly 100 hundred golfers took advantage of this beautiful day to tee off while raising money and awareness about Alzheimer's disease.

The 13th annual "Forget Me Not" golf tournament for Alzheimer's was held at Doublegate Monday. Outback Steakhouse prepared lunch for the golfers, and organizers held raffles and drawings for prizes, even a chance to win a car.

This year event organizers are expecting to raise $25,000 for Alzheimer's, about $2,000 more than last year. As the sixth leading cause of death, organizers say the need for support and awareness if great.

"The money that we raise goes to support the programs and services we have in southwest Georgia," said Dan Phillips of the Alzheimer's Association.  "We cover 35 counties and a lot of people need our help need our support."

Aside from golfing, golfers also got the chance to take a putt for $10,000.
