Valdosta, Ga. - The Valdosta State men's basketball team learned Sunday evening that it will play as the No. 4 seed in the upcoming NCAA South Regional Tournament, which begins Saturday, March 13.
The Blazers will play against East No. 5 seed Clark Atlanta in Russellville, Ark., home of the Region's No. 1 team and Gulf South Conference champion Arkansas Tech, who will play No. 8 Tuskegee, the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion.
No. 3 Florida Southern will play No. 6 Barry while No. 2 Rollins, which won the Sunshine State Conference, will face No. 7 Alabama-Huntsville.

In the women's tournament Valdosta State is the South Region's sixth seed and will face No. 3 Fort Valley State in the first round of the NCAA South Regional Tournament. The tournament will be played March 12, 14 and 16.
The teams will face off in Russellville, Ark., home of the region's top seed and Gulf South Conference Champion, Arkansas Tech. Tech will face No. 8 Benedict, the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Champion.
In the second spot is Delta State, who will square off against No. 7 Lynn. The winner of that game will face the winner of VSU's matchup against FVSU in the next round.
Tampa and Barry are the Nos. 4 and 5 seeds respectively and will also face each other in the opening round.
