ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Albany's Police Chief received his Georgia Police Office Standards and Training certification Friday.

John Proctor got his official Georgia POST certification at South Georgia Technical College in Americus Friday morning.

Even though Proctor had been a Police officer in Florida for 28 years, when he became Albany's Chief he had to get Georgia's required 200 hours of training to receive certification.

Chief Proctor said he admits he learned a lot, and was glad he received the training.
