Blazers tumble in this week's baseball poll

April 7, 2003

Valdosta State, 30-11, coming off a 3-3 week, tumbled from ninth to 27th in this week's Collegiate Baseball Top 30 poll.  The Blazers lost two of three games at unranked Alabama-Huntsville over the weekend to fall into a second place tie with two other teams in the Gulf South Conference eastern division race.

VSU is 8-4 in the East and is tied with Alabama-Huntsville and West Georgia, a game behind West Florida. Delta State, leading the GSC West, is the nation's third-ranked team.  Other GSC teams in the poll include Southern Arkansas (12th) and West Florida (25th).

Florida Southern regained the No. 1 ranking from Kennesaw State, which fell to seventh after losing two of three games to North Florida over the weekend.
