By Jennifer Emert - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Two Sumter County employees were fired after being charged with stealing money from the county Parks and Recreation Department.

Investigators believe the women have been stealing small amounts of money since 2008. Forty-seven year old Patricia Crawley and 35 year old Priscilla West are charged with theft by taking.

So far, investigators have found a little more than $2,000 that was missing, but they're still looking through records.

Investigators say the women tried to replace some of the stolen money.
