A concerned citizen is stepping up to help the children who have been devastated by the tornado in Oklahoma.More >>
ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Set up for the Snickers Marathon Energy Bar Marathon is underway.
Friday, Organizers distributed supplies to the more than 17 water stations that will be set up along the 26-mile course.
Volunteers from the transitional center helped load supplies onto flatbed trailers outside the Albany Civic Center.
Many businesses donated supplies for the race. Water stations will be available throughout the course to provide refreshments and medical assistance.
"We've got water from Nanze Springs, we've got Gatorade, of course Snickers Marathon Energy Bars, we've got fruit and a few of the water stations also will have the gel packets that runners like so much too so we've got a lot of great supplies for them," said Kristin Caso of the Albany Recreation and Parks Department.
Organizers encourage neighbors to gather along the course Saturday morning and cheer on runners participating in the marathon and half marathon.
