VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) –A Virginia man accused of shooting and wounding his daughter and her mother in Valdosta is in the Lowndes County Jail Wednesday.

Authorities say 38-year old Roy Smith shot 16-year old Rochelle Smith and 37-year old Josephine Lonon on February eighth at their Branch Point Drive home. After a nationwide look-out, he was captured in Virginia. Lowndes County deputies brought him back from Virginia on Tuesday.

"Right now he's charged with two counts of aggravated assault," said Valdosta Police Lt. Aaron Kirk. "There are some other possible charges that could be filed against him."

Lt. Kirk says Smith's parole will be revoked. He had served time in prison on drug charges.
