ALBANY, GA (WALB) – January marked record high unemployment in Georgia.
The state's jobless rate rose to 10.4 percent in January, up from the 10.3 percent reported in December. That's up 2 percentage points from last year and it's higher than the national average of 9.7.
In the past year nearly 5,000 jobs have been lost in Albany and Valdosta alone.
