ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The high school basketball scene in Albany has been dominated by Westover and Monroe this season.

The Dougherty High Trojans are also having a very good season.

The Trojans finished third in the region behind their city rivals Westover and Monroe.

While those two teams got to play at home in the first round of the state playoffs, Dougherty went on the road and won at Eagles Landing.

The Trojans now face a bigger challenge on the road tomorrow at Liberty County.

The Panthers are 27-1.

Dougherty is ready for the challenge and glad to show the program is back after finishing last place in the region last year.

Donald Poole said. "We work to get better. We feel like we have gotten better since last year. That is what we try to do. That is the way we approach every game. That is to try to get better for the next one."

Dougherty plays at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty County.

Westover hosts Kendrick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Monroe girls and boys play at 6:00 p.m. at Lagrange on Wednesday.

Northside-Columbus girls play at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday against Westover.
