ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A civic league says thank you to the community after it received thousands of dollars in grant money.
AT&T donated $5,000 to the East Towne Civic League so it could help feed the hungry. Our State senator and commissioner along with our city manager attended the event.
The civic league's president says she couldn't have reached out to the community without their continued support.
"During a time like this when the economy is bad and so many people are out of jobs we have so many people that need help and I really hope and pray that we can reach out and do other things in the community," said East Towne Civic League President Johnnie Hammond.
Civic league volunteers will hand out more food boxes to the hungry next month.
