ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Water Gas and Light leaders say quick response from crews kept the rare snowstorm two weeks ago from causing major problems in Albany.

Snow collected on tree limbs and power lines and knocked out electricity to some homes, businesses, and a few traffic lights.

WG&L crews were ready and responded quickly to problem areas to minimize the downtime.

"For some reason in Albany Georgia when these things happen they happen after working hours. Our employees work for 7am to 4pm, after four is when all the calls started coming into the energy center," Lemuel Edwards, WG&L General Manager.

WG&L leaders say the blackouts were scattered around the city.

All the power was restored without any injuries.
