ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  Albany State ready to open spring practice Friday afternoon.

The Rams big goals this spring are finding successors to quarterback A.J. McKenna and running back Demetrice Johnson.

Wayne Campbell and redshirt freshman Rodney Callon are going to battle for the quarterback job.

While there is still plenty of talent in the ASU backfield with Lironnie Davis and Kareem Hess among several talented backs ready to carry the pigskin.

Coach White says the focus in the spring though is going to be more being a better football team this fall.

Mike White said. "We think our defense is going to be pretty good. Our offensive line should have some good competition. We are going to have some good battles but right now we are just going to work on and see if we can get a little better than in 09."

The Rams will end spring practice with a spring game on March 25th.
