VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) –The Georgia State Patrol is questioning a suspect in the hit and run death of a Moody Airman last month.

Troopers say 19-year-old Travis Biles now admits he hit what he thought was a deer with his Ford Expedition.

Biles hasn't been arrested. Troopers are waiting on evidence to come back from the crime lab.

David Horney was killed as he walked across the North Oak Street Extension in Valdosta.

"We know the family wants immediate closure, but in order for us to do a good job it takes time and we treat each case with the utmost respect," said State Trooper David McLemore.

The state patrol is still looking for any leads in a Valentine's Day hit and run. 37-year-old Hugo Mendez was killed on Highway 84 shortly after 3:00AM.
