ALBANY, GA (WALB) –   An Albany Bank is improving security after it was held up Wednesday by a man who was talking on his cell phone the entire time.

Albany Police say they are following some leads, but they don't have any suspects.

The robber walked into First State Bank of Albany about 3:30 Wednesday and gave a teller a note that said he had a gun.  He left with an envelope full of money. Police hope you can help catch him.

The First State Bank of Albany surveillance video cameras got some good photos of the bank robber, but already bank officials are taking steps to improve their security.

These are surveillance video photos of the bank robber who stuck up the First State Bank of Albany on North Slappey at Whispering Pines, talking on a cell phone the entire time. He's about 6-feet tall, wearing a black ECKO jacket, white baseball cap, and black-rimmed glasses.

First State Bank of Albany President Dean Reese said "He was in here less than 90 seconds."

Thursday morning First State Bank officials had security experts mounting new surveillance cameras inside and out of the bank,  and improving angles on the existing ones, based on Wednesday's robbery.

First State Bank of Albany President Dean Reese said "You find your flaws in the system. We got real good video of him inside the bank. When he got outside the bank is when we lost him."

Investigators think this robber has done this before. He kept his head down and away from cameras most of the time. They suspect he was talking on the phone to an accomplice in a get away car across Whispering Pines. He never showed a gun, but his note warned the teller that he had one and would use it. Those tellers all were back at work Thursday.

Reese said "Of course they are anxious today, looking at the door open. They want to see a familiar face when the door opens. Yeah, they are pretty anxious, but it will take a little time."

Police are asking you to take a look at this cell phone bank robber, and help catch him.

Reese said "That's probably our best bet of catching him. If someone recognizes him and turns him in."
