LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) – NASCAR fans in Georgia are getting a new way to show support for their favorite sport.

Pretty soon, you'll see NASCAR license plates.

In celebration of NASCAR's 50th season of racing at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, the governor showcased the new NASCAR license plate.

The colorful tags will allow Georgia motorists to support the sport they love.  A sport that they're willing to travel long distances to go see.

"We might be able to go to Talladega...I like the superspeedways," said NASCAR fan Skip Govoni.

Getting the new tag will cost you an extra few bucks but proceeds will go towards road safety programs. They should be available at local tag offices within a few months.
