AMERICUS, GA (WALB) – Three men were arrested after an illegal gambling raid on an Americus business.

48-year-old Raymond English, 38-year-old Michael Walker, and 34-year-old Phillip Johnson are charged with unlawful possession of gambling devices, commercial gambling, and keeping a gambling place.

Americus Police raided T&R Variety Shop on East Forsyth Street last week and seized 9-slot machines.

They say it was as a front for a gambling operation. The three suspects were booked into the Sumter County jail and later released on bond.
