LEESBURG, GA (WALB) – A Lee County voter had harsh criticism of how county commissioners spent tax money. The commission chairman fired right back.

At Tuesday night's meeting, Ralph Jackson complained about a recent commission retreat. He claims commissioners spent more than $5,000 at a time when they should be watching every penny.

Chairman Ed Duffy said it was worth it. "Now, you listen to me," he told Jackson. "We went to a retreat, I thought it was a work session. We worked 12 or 14 hours a day. We had a lot of things to discuss, and I don't see anything wrong with that."

Duffy claims Jackson is never happy with county government and often complains.
