Titans chasing top tournament seed against Warriors

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -   Middle Georgia College has already clinched the top seed and the right to host the semifinals and finals of the GJCAA men's tournament next week.

The Albany Tech Titans do have seeding on their minds when they face the regular season championship in their regular season finale Wednesday night at the HPER Gym.

Albany Tech is guaranteed to host a first round game having locked up no worse than the fourth seed.

The Titans can clinch at least the third seed in the tournament with a win over the Warriors.

A win over Middle Georgia and two Coastal Georgia losses could knock the Titans into the number two seed.

Seedings or not, Albany Tech head coach Sylvester Patterson says a win over the top seed would give his team a big boost of confidence heading into the conference tournament.

Sylvester Patterson said. "We have basically beat everybody else in the conference. At least split with everybody else. We are looking at Middle Georgia they have only lost one game all year in conference by one point. So, if we can get a win over them. We will have a lot of confidence going into the tournament."

Albany Tech hosts Middle Georgia at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night at Albany State's HPER Gym.
