ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Water, Gas and Light and Albany public works crews are hard at work repairing a sink hole on 16th Avenue.

It turns out the cause of the gaping hole is due to a sink hole, not a water main failure.

Now, about 100 feet away, a smaller sink hole is causing problems. Turns out, it developed about a week before the large one on 16th Avenue.

It's in a yard, not far away from a Chris Coates home.  He says he's a little worried it may grow larger and put his home at risk.

The large sink hole will take days to repair.  Officials are asking for your patience and consideration when traveling through the area.
